About Kenna

I am a coach, writer, Reiki practitioner, survivor of hidden incest and narcissistic abuse, and lover of travel and hiking, particularly on the trails of the Camino de Santiago.

In terms of credentials, I received my Holistic Health Coaching certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and completed a Virtual Coach training with Eben Pagan. I have completed three courses with trauma healing guru Aimie Apigian, MD and her company, Trauma Healing Accelerated: The 21-Day Journey (an introduction to nervous system regulation through somatic exercises and support), All Parts of Me (an introduction to parts work/internal family systems for trauma healing), and Take Charge of my Trauma: The Biology of Healing. I completed a 200-hour yoga teaching certification program, and was initiated into Reiki levels I and II by Linda Kaye, a Reiki Master in the Usui lineage.

However, life has been my greatest teacher. I found myself on a spiritual and healing journey for many years that ultimately sent me into the depths of my shadow and core wound, into brushes with madness and death, and from which I finally emerged saner, stronger, and wiser (though still and always living with my scars). The story is in my memoir.

My greatest life lesson (and my greatest struggle) has been to learn to trust myself, my intuition, and my body’s messages and I now share what I have learned with others. I have found pilgrimage and walking generally healing and clarifying, particularly during life transitions and other times of contemplation or decision-making. My practice combines my passions for travel, walking, self-study, trauma healing, and coaching.

I also love to dance, cook, bake (always gluten- and dairy-free!), listen to music, study languages, and talk, laugh and spend time with friends.
